Community Activities

At IPYL a part of our project entails the establishment of localised community events, meetings and seminars in order to encourage the development of democratised institutions and benefit the groups in society most in need of such empowerment.

For example, with the radio-programs produced by Hebronite women in our Community Media Center we target a generally neglected portion of equal citizens; this includes shows aimed at children and mothers. Additionally, our introduction of foreign internationals into various Palestinian aid-environments provides a mutual benefit not only for our volunteers and the community they work in but also helps to popularise the cause of the Palestinian struggle for autonomy. In this way our communities are strengthened by a hospitality to others.

Our offices offer a limited availability of free internet-usage to youth who may need it for recreational and educational purposes e.g. university applications etc. Through such beneficial connections within the community whereby local Palestinians are constantly mixing with internationals we cultivate a socially independent but open atmosphere of toleration and diversity accessible to all, disenfranchised or not.

By reading our Activities Reports you should be able to see for yourself examples of our community activities. You may also like to investigate our annual workcamps.
