International workcamps in the Middle East 2007, ENROLLING NOW! For the third year in a row, youth organisations from the Middle East have joined efforts to build up a common agenda of workcamps between June 2007 and December 2007. For several years youth organizations have been organizing workcamps in the Middle East. While the majority of these camps took place in Palestine, some initiatives have taken place elsewhere. For the third year, three voluntary and youth organizations in the Middle East, (Palestine and Egypt) are cooperating with each other in organizing a unified workcamps directory for the region. After the great success of last year, we became more determined to give the best chances for international volunteers to travel and see as much as possible from this region and its potentials. IPYL, GUDRAN and YDD are joining efforts to present a unified workcamps program this season. The idea is to strentghten our network in the region and to exchange experiences and expertise. This way instead of competing against each other, we can work collectively to build our capacities and therefore bring a double benefit to our members and beneficiaries. Moreover, the main aim behind this cooperation is to provide international volunteers with a wide choice of workcamps and the opportunity to participate in number of camps in different countries. We hope that this spirit of mutual collaboration will lead to increased opportunities for our local and international volunteers to experience the benefits of inter-cultural learning, and to inspire an atmosphere of peace. As a result of the this cooperation, we are very happy to present to you a program of 8 workcamps in Egypt and in Palestine for 2007. We are looking forward to seeing motivated volunteers in Palestine and the Middle East!
